Two young music students from Vilnius in Lithuania are spending the summer in Denia on the Costa Blanca and they are charming the locals with their playing. In September one of them will be attending the Royal Academy of music in London and next year the other will be doing the same but in Holland. To make ends meet they give concerts in the evenings and during the day they busk in the streets of Denia. They love the response that they get from the public here ,the clapping and the children dancing .The down side is that Spain is a lot more expensive both for buying food and for accommodation. They say that they are also not so keen on rice as their Lithuanian diets are more potato based.
Both young women have been playing the violin since childhood .They come from musical families with one mother conducting a choir,a brother a cellist ,another also a violinist. They have performed in most European countries, travelling with their academy. They don’t just play classical either, they love Spanish music,Latin American, bossa nova and jazz as well.Their tastes are in fact eclectic .They can very easily change from their little black dresses into something more trendy and change the beat very quickly.
They love the informality of Spain ,they love the countryside with its mountains as Lithuania is quite flat but has its own charm.Soon they will return there before following each of their chosen musical pathways.
