Tourism Slump In Valencia Region

The Valencia region has shown the greatest drop in foreign tourists overall.The drop in foreign tourism to Spain was 12% in the first five months of this year.The Ministry of Industry ,Tourism and Commerce has published a report by Frontur which shows that Spain has 18.3 million foreign visitors during the first five months of the year which is an 11.8% drop from the same time last year.

The largest drop was from visitors from the UK.During those five months 4.6 million British tourists came to the country which represents a drop of almost 18% over 2008.German  statistics showed a drop of 11.2%.The only positive point was tht visits from Latin American countries were up by 9%.The European downward trend is common to most European countries.

The Valencia region has shown the largest overall frop in tourism ,it is down by 19% over last year with only 1.7 million foreign tourists equating to a loss of 323,000 visitors..&1% of those who did come to Spain did not use a package holiday deal preferring now to make their own bookings on line,often negotiating better deals.
