Javea Rotary International Fellowship
The Finca del Campello,in Pedreguer, was the venue for the handing over of a cheque to ADIMA by the Javea Rotary International Fellowship.
The property will be used by ADIMA and other charities in the summer and during other holidays for disabled and disadvantaged children.It has a kitchen,bedrooms,conference centre,therapy rooms plus a swimming poolwith a special hoist to aid those youngsters who find it difficult to get in and out of the water.
As part of a local government scheme 12 youths have been involved in helping to get the gardens ready .This project aims to give these young people the opportunity to enjoy further education ,learn a trade and it also gives them 1:1 tuition in subjects such as mathematics in the hope that they may re-enter schooling.They have been working with tutors for 10 months ,have learned the basics of gardening and have spent time doing work experience in garden centres.
The money raised by the Rotary will go towards the building of a new greenhouse in the garden.
