Jalon Valley School Prize

In JUne 2005 Adina Harper ,a pupil at Laude,Lady Elizabeth School died. She was 14 years old .Her parents decided to award a prize to the school in memory of their daughter.Adina loved to travel and so those who apply for this award have to include this into the application together with any other passion that they might wish to persue in their lives. This could be sporting, academic, artistic or anything else which incorporates travel.

This year the prize was given to a year 11 boy after a high number of students applied for the award.Hari Hook has a passion for marine biloogy and aspires to be a marine geologist. On receiving the prize he thanked both the school and Adina’s parents for allowing him the opportunity to follow his dream. He has found a project in Thailand which will allow him to help conserve  marine life in the region ,reforest a mangrove swamp and then take part in an advanced diving course.

What a wonderful legacy this young woman and her parents have left to this school and beyond into the lives of these young people.
