Alicante School Awards


The British School of Alicante,King’s College,held their prize giving ceremony last week .Pupils were rewarded for their outstanding academic and sporting achievements.The ceremony was attended by the British Vice Consul,Lloyd Milen and also the King’s Group Academic Coordinator,Christopher Leech.

The award ceremony opened with the school orchestra playing “Movie Buster” and “Basingstoke Blues”.There were also solos by pupils playing the piano and  cello.The Violin Group delighted everyone with their performance of Bach’s “Concerto for Two Violins”The ceremony came to an end with the choir singing “I have a dream”.

Many prizes were given to students for their academic achievements .There was also recognition of the charity work which they do,raising almost 1400euros in the sixth form last christmas.The soccer team came third out of 40 sides in the ‘Juegos Escalores” competition,their best ever result.Chess players achieved excellent results in regional tournamentsand two students will represent the Valencia region in the Spanish Chess Championships.
